Boulder City Hospital in collaboration with Boulder City Chamber of Commerce and Roseman University of Health Sciences will present the free Boulder City Health Festival on Saturday, October 22, 2011. The health fair is open 8am to noon at the Boulder City Recreation Center (900 Arizona Street).
More than 30 health care and service providers will be on hand to provide a variety of service and information. Health screenings, disease management information, health insurance information and safety information will be available. Boulder City Hospital and Roseman University clinical staff will be on hand to provide screenings including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, body-mass index, spinal bone strength and more.
In addition to health screenings, disease management information will be available on topics ranging from diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and more. Health insurance representatives will be available to discuss the benefits of Medicare options.
Also of note is Operation Medicine Cabinet. In conjunction with the Boulder City Police Department, residents are encouraged to drop off any unused and expired prescription or over the counter medications for safe and proper disposal.
