This has been a program that the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce has been working on for a while, and has finally come to fruition. After years of work they have joined this national non-profit Main Street America, which is an organization “dedicated to re-energizing and strengthening older and historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts nationwide.”
According to their local plans the mission will be “to act as a pivotal liaison in the preservation of Boulder City’s historical heritage while enhancing the community’s vibrancy through a thriving business environment. By supporting the efforts of both the City of Boulder City and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Boulder City is committed to fostering a collaborative spirit among local businesses and stakeholders, with a strong focus on event support, marketing, and beautification.
Our vision is to be the connective fiber that interweaves historical preservation with economic vitality, transforming Boulder City’s Main Street into a bustling hub that attracts both locals and visitors alike. Through our efforts, we aim to highlight Boulder City’s distinctive charm, ensuring its history remains a key part of its identity for generations to come.”
The administrative team consists of Michelle Caven, Amber Cunningham, and Danielle Stemmer. They presented all of the information along with their formal 3-year plan to the City Council earlier this summer and will also be presenting to the Historic Preservation Commission on October 28th.
This is good news for Boulder City for both the existing businesses located within the Historic District as well as elsewhere in town. They focus will first be on building events and activities that support the Historic District. The City’s Community Development Department is excited to have their assistance to help make Boulder City more “business friendly” and boost their ability to retain exciting businesses and recruit new ones into town as well.
They already have a few events planned which we’ll be telling you more about soon. We wish this project great success to benefit all of us in Boulder City!
