Boulder City Library Events for October 2025

Oct2025Library Boulder City Nevada

The Library will be closed Monday, October 13 for Indigenous Peoples Day and Columbus Day. The Library will also be closed on Friday, October 31 for Nevada Day. The library’s regular hours are Monday thru Thursday, from 10:00AM to 8:00PM and Friday thru Sunday from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. The library has a website, which you can access by clicking HERE. There are eBooks, magazines, movies, music, and more available 24/7!

BANNED BOOK WEEK IS OCTOBER 5 TO OCTOBER 11

Ages 0-5 Programs
  • Tuesdays at 10:30AM
    Toddler Tuesday Storytime: Ages 1-3 and Caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, And a craft or activity. Board Room.
  • Fridays at 10:30AM
    Drop In Storytime: Ages 0-5 and Caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, and crafts. Board Room.
  • Thursdays at 9:30AM
    Early Risers Lapsit Storytime: Ages 0-2 and Caregiver. Join us for stories and songs. Board Room.
  • Trick or Treating
    Join us for Trick or Treating in the Library immediately following storytimes on 10/24 & 10/28 at 11:00AM and on 10/30 at 10:30AM. Children attending storytime are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and bring a bag/bucket to collect treats!
  • Wednesday, October 8 at 11:30AM
    UNR Extension- Exploring Safety: 4 Week Program designed to improve awareness of important child safety issues and to increase parenting knowledge. Ages 0-5. Workshop Dates: 10/8, 10/22, 10/29, & 11/5. Sign-ups Required. Board Room.

  • Wednesdays 10/1 & 10/15 at 3:30PM
    Youth Coding Club: Learn coding through hands-on activities, STEAM Kits, and online computer coding programs. Ages 6-11. *Now on Wednesdays* Community Room
  • Saturday, October 25 at 1:00PM
    Youth Art Club: Arts and Crafts fun. Choose from 2 to 4 crafting creation activities. Ages 6-11. Community Room.

  • School Days at 2:00PM
    Teen Time: Coloring, puzzles, board games, or crafts while you hang out with your friends. Teen Area.
  • Mondays at 3:00PM
    Roleplayers Guild- Play Dungeons & Dragons. Ages 12-18. *Now on Mondays* Nevada Room.
  • Tuesday, October 21 at 2:00PM
    TeenTober Craft: Join us for an afternoon of crafts and creativity. Ages 12-18. Community Room.

    Family Halloween Craft Hour: Bring the family and have fun creating various Fall and Halloween crafts. All Ages. Community Room.

    Flashback to 1995 Movie: It Takes Two (PG): Join us for an afternoon showing to celebrate the 30th anniversary of it’s release. All Ages. Community Room.
  • Tuesdays 10/14 & 10/28 at 3:30PM
    Lego & Duplo Building Club: We provide the Legos & Duplo, you provide the imagination! Lego available for kids ages 6-11 to build. Duplo available for kids ages 0-5 to build. Bring the family for some creative fun! Parents/caregivers please attend for the duration of the program. Community Room.

    Halloween Origami- Frightful Folding fun: Join us at the library for this frightfully fun Halloween Origami program. We will magically transform paper into pumpkins, bats, and other ghoulish surprises with every fold! Ages 9+. Community Room.

    Best of Boulder City: Join the Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Boulder City for the annual Best Of Boulder City Awards! All Ages. Outdoor Amphitheater.
  • Friday, October 10 at 6:00PM
    Shakespeare in the Amphitheater- Romeo & Juliet: Performance by the Nevada Shakespeare Festival in partnership with Main Street Boulder City and the Chamber of Commerce. Bring chairs & blankets for comfort. Food/snacks welcome. Food Truck will be on site. Drinks must be non-alcoholic. No glass containers please! All Ages. Outdoor Amphitheater.

    Las Vegas Book Festival: Visit us at the Las Vegas Book Festival at the Historic Fifth Street School! We’ll have giveaways, crafts, and storytimes with the other local library districts!

    Tarot Outside the Box- Working with Ancestors: Advanced tarot workshop. Use tarot to do a deep dive into family history, dive into the tarot courts as a means of mapping family dynamics and relations. Some discussion of mediumship, psychic messages, and other ways of knowing might arise. Please bring your favorite tarot deck(s) as well as a notebook and writing implement.     Come Write In- Creative Writing: Creative writing prompts and activities to generate new writing. All skill levels welcome. Community Room.
  • Thursday, October 23 at 6:00PM
    The Weird World of Renaissance Magic- with Professor Katherine Walker: This talk will highlight how authors like Shakespeare and his contemporaries experimented with belief in magic, producing spectacular results upon the stage. Focus will be on the texts and belief of magic, where figures like faeries, ghosts, and demons will make an appearance. We’ll meet an interesting cast of characters, from charlatans to astrologers, witches and priests. And in the end, we will think about how magic threads throughout some of the greatest plays of the Renaissance. Combined Community & Board Rooms.

Tech Teachers

  • Tech teachers are available in October! Exclusions for tech teacher include, but are not limited to: Device repairs, device set-up, same day appointments, over the phone appointments, and/or multiple same week appointments. To sign-up for a one-on-one time, please visit the information desk or call the Library at 702-293-1281. Tech Teachers are available on Wednesdays 12:00PM and 1:00PM and Thursdays 12:00PM and 1:00PM.
