Boulder City Library Events: June 2025

Summer is in full swing and the Boulder City Library is bustling with activities for young and old alike. Color Our World, the Summer Reading Program, continues and you can win amazing prizes for participating (sign up at Beanstack). The University of Nevada Reno has a special healthy eating class for children 3-5 and their caregiver. The price of eggs is still an issue so find out how to cook and bake with egg replacements. And of course there are lots of movies, clubs (art, coding, book – to name a few!). You can learn new crochet stitches or research your family history! There’s a lot to do this month!

Please note the following changes to library hours, and closures:

• The library will be closed Thursday, June 19 for Juneteenth.
• Monday thru Thursday, 10:00AM to 8:00PM.
• Friday thru Sunday, 10:00AM to 5:00PM.
• Senior Early Browsing Hour, 9:00AM to 10:00AM on Wednesdays.

• Wednesday, June 4 at 11:30AM: Storytime with Lion Habitat Ranch: Enjoy a story read by one of the keepers at the Lion Habitat Ranch! Community Room.
• Wednesday, June 11 at 11:00AM & 6:00PM: Father’s Day Family Craft Hour: We’re hosting an AM and PM option for a Family crafting party. Drop in to make and take a Father’s day craft. All Ages. Community Room.
• Friday, June 27 at 11:00AM: Teddy Bear Sleepover: Ever wonder what happens at the library when it’s closed? We will share our secret world with your favorite stuffed animal at our Teddy Bear Sleep Over. Sign-ups required. Board Room.

• Tuesdays at 10:30AM: Toddler Tuesday Storytime: Ages 1-3 and Caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, and a coloring sheet. Board Room.
• Fridays at 10:30AM: Drop In Storytime: Ages 0-5 and Caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, and crafts. Board Room.
• Thursdays at 9:30AM: Early Risers Lapsit Storytime: Ages 0-2 and Caregiver. Join us for stories and songs. Board Room.
• Tuesdays, 6/10 & 6/24 at 11:00AM: DUPLO Building Club: Bring your early learners to Duplo building club. We’ll provide the blocks, and you provide the creativity. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. Board Room.
• Wednesday, June 18 at 11:30AM: Cooking with Young Children with University Nevada Reno: Hosted by UNR: Part parenting workshop to foster parent-child connection and part hands-on learning activity, this workshop promotes healthy eating and why cooking together is beneficial. Sign-ups required. Program is for children ages 3-5 and caregiver. Board Room.
• Wednesday, June 25 at 11:30AM: Unlocking Literacy with Environmental Print with PBS Kids: Interactive early literacy skills workshop to harness the power of environmental print, including recognizing text from street signs, food labels, and everyday objects. Sign-ups required. Program for children Ages 4-5. Community Room.

• Thursday, June 5 at 1:00PM: Youth Art Club: Explore your creativity with creating various art and craft projects. Ages 6-11. Community Room.
• Mondays, 6/9 & 6/23 at 3:30PM: Youth Coding Club: Introduces coding through hands-on activities, STEAM Kits, and online computer coding programs. Ages 6-11. Community Room.
• Tuesdays, 6/10 & 6/24 at 3:30PM: Lego Building Challenge: We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination! Ages 6-11. Community Room.
• Thursday, June 12 at 1:30PM: Game Time with PBS Kids Lyla in The Loop: Design, Test, & Play! Interactive workshop to create your own card games while discovering the science behind cause and effect, inspired by Lyla in the Loop. Sign-ups required. Program for Children Ages 6-8. Community Room.

• Wednesday, June 25 at 1:30PM: Teen Crochet Earrings Craft: Teens join us for an afternoon of creating your own crochet earrings. All materials provided. Sign-ups required. Community Room
• Thursday, June 26 at 1:00PM: Teen Crafternoon: Teens- join us for various crafts and art projects to show off your creativity. Ages 12-18. Community Room.
• Sunday, June 29 at 1:30PM: Singing in the Stacks Library Karaoke: From Country to Christmas, Metal to Musicals, Rock to Rap, Opera to Oldies, join us and sing your favorite songs. No experience needed. Beginners are Welcome! No registration required. Ages 13+. Combined Community & Board Rooms.
