The Parks and Recreation Department have slated several important parks renovations and changes to existing parks here in the city. We will break down the improvements at each park for readers!
ALL PARKS: Water fountains have been replaced with new fountains that include bottle water refilling stations.
ABC PARK: The outdoor court was resurfaced for both pickleball and basketball.
BROADBENT PARK: There is a new playground structure on order and some new swings scheduled for installation in March 2024. Also, there is a temporary pickleball court installed that residents can try out for a couple weeks. The city is trying to see if this is something that should be purchased for the area. Tennis courts were converted to multi-use courts.
HEMENWAY PARK: The cracked, concrete basketball court was removed and a new modular one was installed. It looks and plays great! Some of the park equipment installed included a new Whirly Q Spinner and new swings, including a new inclusive swing.
OASIS PARK: New equipment is on the way for the park. It’s expected to be delivered in March 2024.
VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK: New playground equipment will replace the current structure at the playground. Two large skate ramps were replaced and the middle ramp will be redone in the coming months.
XERISCAPE PARK: The park was completely renovated.
We’re excited about these upgrades and look forward to some playdates at our local parks.
