Not only will you get to see them in person soon, but we wanted to be sure you knew they have their own Facebook page too!
Many of us saw them in the Damboree Parade, but not only were they making their debut that lovely morning, but Officer Pastore and Odie also put in a long day of work!
For right now the mounted unit is working primarily special events. But soon you’ll see them more often, actively patrolling areas of the city.
Your next opportunity to meet them will be at the National Night Out, coming soon August 1st. (We’ll be getting the details on that for ya soon!)
We also got the scoop from one of Odie’s caretakers, Kelly Haugh…
She tells us that Odie has some specially decked out horse shoes! They’re extra thick latex soles for Odie, to help keep his feet secure on the asphalt.
She says that naturally Odie is friendly and super well behaved, although apparently he doesn’t much care for having the hair around his ears trimmed! :))))
We can’t wait to see more of our new local Boulder City Mounted Police friends!
