The Boulder City Chamber of Commerce is organizing the city’s first ever Pooch Parade! This idea grew out of one of the ‘Think Tank’ meetings where local resident Linda Barnett knew from her daughter Dana, who lives in Brooklyn, NY, where they have a HUGE annual pooch parade event! Apparently these types of events have become quite the thing all over the US. So, why not us, we ask?!? Afterall, we’ve got some of the cutest pups around – we see them everywhere in our small town! From there, Linda and Jill Lagan of the Chamber partnered up with Sandra Fraser of See Spot Run, and together these ladies ran with the idea.
The parade will be November 3rd from 11am-3pm at Bicentennial Park and awards will be given for the best costumes in these categories:
- Best Holiday Outfit
- Most Patriotic
- Bling Bling
- Best Trick
- Most Obedient (that won’t be our dog…)
- Funniest Costume
- Best Theme
- Owner/Pet Duo
Plus they’ll have entertainment, raffle prizes and other dog-gone-good-times and all proceeds will benefit the BC Emergency Aid and the See Spot Run Dog Park.
So, the two-legged people need to get busy helping their four-legged best friends turn in their applications now! Entry fees are $5 per category you wish to enter for the contest, and we’ve got that form for you HERE. Linda emphasizes if anyone has any questions at all, to please reach out to her – contact info is on the flyer. Well, all we have to say is ‘WOOF!” Let’s see how much fun we can have with this Boulder City!
