Check Out Boulder City’s Haunted Tour

Haunted Tours Boulder City, NevadaIf you haven’t met him, Joshua Warren is a like a blend of the perfect southern gentleman, a stage performer and a supernaturalist all in one!

Born in Ashville NC, he was surrounded by tons of folklore, legends and mysteries and as a child became infatuated about all-things strange and unusual. So much so that he began to write about them and published his first books on the topics when he was a teenager.

Now he’s written over twenty books and lived in a variety of places, many of which he has investigated and are famous for their metaphysical mythology – the Maya pyramids, the Bermuda Triangle, Romania and the castles of Transylvania, and the Tower of London, to name a few.

In his hometown of Ashville, he created a Haunted Tour to explore all of its myths and mysteries and found it was a huge hit!  It is still running to this day.

Through his travels he eventually came through the southwest and found himself drawn to the Las Vegas area. Returning many times he said he started to investigate the energy he felt and started to investigate to see if there were any unusual occurrences in our area.

Apparently, we are in the midst of our own ‘desert triangle’ of abnormal activity. (OK, that’s really not a stretch now is it folks!) From Las Vegas to Reno to Fresno, CA. is an area of odd occurrences – mysterious disappearances, sightings of UFO’s and other paranormal experiences. He started to realize that there are also a lot of things about Boulder City that were tickled the edge of the preternatural. But it wasn’t being talked about and he wondered why.

Back in the 1930s, the people who moved into the area came to build the dam needed to be portrayed as being reliable, so he tells us, it became very unpopular to talk about anything unusual or paranormal and it stayed that way. Joshua says though that as he has talked to people and come into town, he hung out and met people at the library and about town. And people would tell him things. In secret of course…wouldn’t want to feel out of place or anything!

With all of that he realized that he could recreate the Ashville experience. So, last September he created the Haunted Boulder City Tour! He said he really didn’t know if he would sell a single ticket. But sure enough, about 2,000 tickets were sold and the tours were packed. He’s continued the tours beyond the more obvious Halloween and Holiday time frame then now he is making it year-round.

Tours are currently available Thursday – Saturday nights, however they may make it available seven night’s a week depending on the reception and availability of guides. All tours are guided and start at 8pm, and is a 60-minute tour. People call and can request tours in advance, even when they are not scheduled. We highly recommend booking in advance at HauntedBoulderCity.com and you can see the schedule there. Please do reserve 24-hours in advance as it helps them a lot with planning. They run regardless of weather – so if it’s a stormy night dress accordingly and show up.
