Check Out Boulder City's Own Halloween House

Have you been to the Halloween House yet? There’s still time to see this fun yard display at 1415 Fifth Street that Destry Labo constructs every year.

Destry grew up here and in Las Vegas. She left Southern Nevada for San Diego, California for about a decade and that’s where the Halloween House idea was born. She had a neighbor whose decorations were so amazing, Destry thought she might work for Disney! Fortunately for us, Destry likes to design and decorate. The initial inspo may have been from her neighbor, but she’s capitalized on those ideas and made them even better.

It takes about five weeks to set up the display and then 5-7 days to take it down and make room for the spectacular Christmas display she does every year. They like to start the last week of August. “They” includes Eugene Dir, Kelly Jackson, and Jeff Cashin. Destry says, “They are crucial to this project! They work so hard and do an amazing job.”

The best part of being a Boulder City Halloween legend, is the joy it brings to others, especially children. She likes to see the happiness that others get from her Halloween decorations.

The Halloween House is lit up for the month of October from 6:00PM to 9:00PM, weather permitting. If it’s windy or rainy, the display will be dark that night so be sure to choose an evening with decent weather to check it out.

After Halloween, Destry and her team hurry to take down and pack away the Halloween decorations because then it’s time to transform her yard into a winter wonderland. They start on installation the first week of November so that it will be ready by December 1st. The Christmas holiday display is up from December 1 thru New Year’s Day, January 1, 2027!

Remember to check out her Halloween display before it ends. This has become a popular spot for visitors, not just from Boulder City and Henderson, but from all over Clark County. Be respectful of her property and that of her neighbors. You can find the Halloween House on Instagram HERE.
