For the 3rd year, Twin Timbers’ Christmas Tree lot has opened right next to Pizza Hut (1208 Nevada Hwy).
They are selling ‘farm fresh’ trees brought in directly from Eugene, Oregon and are currently stocking Grand Fir Trees and Noble Fir Trees (which is among the list of most popular farm-grown trees, along with Douglas Fir, Fraser fir, Balsam Fir, Scotch Pine, Virgina Pine and White Pine).
I stopped by today to get a photo (below), to find out a little about Christmas Tree farming (below that) and to find out how much real Christmas Trees are selling for these days…so the price list for Twin Timber’s Christmas Trees is below that!
I’m not an tree pro myself — it’s been years since I had my own tree (relying on others to do all the work and I just visit) — but I have to tell you…the trees on the lot this morning were beautiful. The picture below actually DOES do them justice!
For the ever-curious like myself, here’s a little info I picked up at the lot this morning about growing real Christmas trees:
- Trees are grown on farms, planted in rows, beginning in the late winter and early spring
- It takes 7 – 10 years to grow a tree to 6-7 feet high
- 93% of all real Christmas Trees purchased are recycled
- 1 acre of real Christmas Trees provides enough oxygen for 18 people
And last, but not least — here is the price list for a Twin Timbers Christmas Tree:
