At their regular City Council meeting last night, two important items were before the officials for their action. In the first item of significant public interest was consideration of a bill that would prohibit camping and storage of personal property in undeveloped areas of the city. The bill is designed to reduce any homeless encampments in Boulder City. The measure is similar to other legislation adopted in Clark County and around the state. This proposal passed unanimously.
In another topic of much discussion in the community lately was the reconstruction of Nevada Way between Wyoming / Ash Street and Arizona Street. The reconstruction would include reconfiguration of parking along this stretch, as well as providing dedicated ADA access in the area. This project was discussed at length, but the City Council requested additional information from the Public Works Department before proceeding with the project. The item will return to a future City Council meeting.
