We’re thrilled to introduce you to Lisa LaPlante, who we had the pleasure of meeting a few days ago. She started work this week and has already hit the ground running!
Lisa has come here from Kent County, Michigan where she has a background in television, but has been in the public sector since 2011. Her previous positions in Kent County have been as the Marketing and Communications Manager, and later as the County Community Liaison and Communications Director.
City Manager Al Noyola says, “I saw a vacuum when it came to news and information. We need to be proactive in promoting our events, providing accurate information to our residents, responding to critical incidents and sharing the work of our dedicated employees. Having someone in City Hall every day will give us more opportunities and advantages to fill that void.”
The City is creating a new Communications Plan and with it say they will be reviewing the BCTV Government Channel Policy, as well as oversee all other communication channels, with a clear goal towards creating an open and transparent City government.
“Residents need information in a timely, concise manner,” said LaPlante. “I want to be sure we are sharing information on multiple platforms to reach everyone as quickly as possible.”
Please join us in giving Ms. LaPlante a warm Boulder City welcome!
