City Offers a Variety of Rebate Programs for Residents

We've been doing a lot of work around the house lately so we were happy to learn that some of our hard work could be eligible for a number of rebates offered by the City. We also thought it was a great time to share this information with our readers, as well!

There is a nice rebate offered for the installation of a smart thermostat. It's valued at $75 or 50% off the MSRP, whichever is less for the installation. These thermostats make it simple to control your HVAC system and fine tune programs for when your air conditioning or heating are being used. Who wants to pay to air condition a house while they're at work? With smart controllers, you can prevent annoyances like this and save on your monthly bill. For a list of approved thermostats, click HERE.

Another great way to save money on your utility bill, as well as being a conscientious consumer, is by installing a smart irrigation controllers. A smart irrigation control can keep you from watering your landscape on the wrong day or time, or overwatering. It's simple to change the days and times throughout the year to match your neighborhood's schedule so that will save you time and money. This rebate is also valued at $75 or 50% off the MSRP, whichever is less. The approved controllers can be found HERE. This rebate is offered in partnership with the Southern Nevada Water Authority.

This rebate for Water Smart Landscaping isn't offered by the city, but instead by the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Basically, they will rebate residential properties, businesses, HOAs, and multifamily properties $3 per square foot of grass removed and replaced with desert landscaping. This one's a little more involved, as there are requirements that need to be met BEFORE you begin the removal process, and there are additional program conditions that must be met in order to receive the funds. You can head over to SNWA's website HERE to get more information. REMEMBER: this program is not administered by the City of Boulder City. All questions or concerns about eligibility and process must be directed to SNWA personnel.

Thinking of installing a supplemental water heater? Consider purchasing a solar water heater and you could be eligible for up to $200. The additional water heater must have a minimum of 40 gallons of solar storage. You can find out more HERE.

Replacing your old HVAC system with a newer, more efficient system is an excellent way to maximize energy savings. There are a bunch of rebates for this type of work and you can find them all HERE to see which one applies to your situation.

Lastly, if you have a swimming pool, the city has a rebate program for replacing your pool pump with a high efficiency model. A two-speed pump rebate is $100, while a variable-speed pool pump could net you $200.

For more information about these rebates offered, and to download the forms required, please click HERE for the City's rebate page. Requests for rebates are required to be submitted no later than 90 days after installation and are subject to funding availability. Rebates are available on a first come, first served basis.
