True story … I’m dining in a Boulder City restaurant last month and the gentleman sitting behind our table appears to be having a heart attack. Oh man — we jumped to and helped out until paramedics arrived, but it made me wonder if we’d done everything correctly until help arrival (which we had, it turns out … whew).
That very same day, the Fall/Winter 2015 Parks & Rec Guide landed in my in-box and I noticed a CPR and general first aid class as one of the programs — so thought it would make an excellent thing to share. Because you just never know, you know?
Half-Day classes (from 9am – 1pm) covering CPR procedures and general first aid are being held on a variety of dates starting this coming Saturday, September 12th, 2015. It then repeats at the same times on November 7th, 2015 and January 9th, 2016.
The class is intended for the lay rescuer (ages 12+) and is instructed by certified Boulder City firemen at the Boulder City Fire Department (1101 Elm St.).
If you’d like to register for this $45 class, you can do that at the Parks & Recreation Dept. (900 Arizona Street). They’re open Monday – Thursday from 7am-6pm!
