So, here’s totally stinky news…not happy stuff at all, I’m afraid!

Fan Melissa Savage pointed me in the direction of a Washington Post article that came out last weekend. It seems that the dry-up of federal funds at the Desert Tortoise Conservation Center may lead to its closure and Bureau of Land Management may need to euthanize hundreds of the tortoises! Oh no!

UPDATE: There was so really good conversation on Facebook about this, including links to articles disputing that more than about 6 (ill) tortoises would have to be euthanized, so I’m going to embed the Facebook post below for ya:
