Fan Priscilla Runion made a cool post to the Facebook page a couple of months ago about the ‘Cell Phones For Soldiers’ program and since Santa might bring new phones to so many people next week – this is a good time to share what seems to be a GREAT use for your old phones!
Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides cost-free communication services to active-duty military members and veterans through monetary contributions and the recycling of donated mobile phones. Newer or gently-used mobile phones from all service providers are accepted. Each $5 contribution, or donated device valued at $5, will provide troops with 2.5 hours of FREE talk time.
There are numerous drop-off locations through Boulder City, Henderson and Las Vegas and you can find the one closest to you by using the locator map HERE.
In Boulder City – there are two locations listed on the locator map – the Nevada State Veterans Home and The UPS Store (located in the Vons Shopping Center). Not listed on the map, but still a drop-off location is PostNet (located in the Albertsons Shopping Center), who just boxes them up and sends them in for you).
For more info on the program, you can visit the Cell Phones for Soldiers website by CLICKING HERE! Thanks, Priscilla!
