We’ve got an early peek at the plans for the proposed bike path that will connect Henderson with Boulder City via the River Mountain Loop Trail and the Railway Museum area!
The footbridge over the new I-11 freeway into town will be open by the end of this year.
The City, Chamber of Commerce and the Railway Museum have all been busy working on this project that will connect riders all the way to the entrance to downtown through a variety of pathways both existing and new.
The bike path will also have rest stops and items of interest along the way and…best of all…connect to local businesses on Boulder City Parkway (like Chilly Jilly’z, for example). The path runs through the Railway Museum and thus also has themed elements of artistic interest, like a rail car turned into a bridge. The plan has also been created with the Complete Streets project in mind, so its intent is to be cohesive when the work is complete.
It’s important to note that funding is still pending on this awesome project, and a grant has been submitted to the State Trails Grant within the Nevada Division of State Parks.
We’ll keep you posted on this exciting project that should be nothing but good for Boulder City!
