While you might think the EPA is visiting our fair town this week to talk about the Colorado toxic spill — they will actually be here (at the Boulder City Library) on Tuesday (Sept. 1st, 2015) to talk about the asbestos concerns in and around Boulder City, following Channel 8’s investigative report entitled “Deadly Dust – Asbestos in the Backyard”.
Below is the flyer for the event and if you missed the Channel 8 report, you can watch it on YouTube by CLICKING HERE.
Much of the first half are pieces that I’d seen on the news before (the UNLV scientists & Libby, MT) – but minute 24:00 is specifically about Boulder City, Adams Blvd., Martha P. King Elementary, the I-11 and the planned residential building in Henderson’s annexation. So if you are interested in attending the library event, you’ll definitely want to get up to speed with all that, then you can bring your position (no matter which side you’re on) to the library to have a face-to-face with the UNLV researchers and the EPA.
