Here’s what’s going on down at the lake this coming month:

Ranger Program: Star Party, Feb 1

Join a ranger at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Boulder Beach Amphitheater to learn more about the stars that make up the night sky. The Las Vegas Astronomical Society will be on hand for telescope viewing of distant constellations and far-away planets from 6-8 p.m. For more information, call 702-293-8990.

Ranger Hike: Arizona Hot Spring, Feb 8

Join a ranger Feb. 8 for a strenuous hike down White Rock Canyon, then looping up through Arizona Hot Spring. Participants will hike for a round-trip total of 6.5 miles past granite boulders to the Colorado River, then climb a 20-foot ladder and hike through natural hot springs back to the trailhead.  For more information and to make a reservation, call 702-293-8990.

Valentine’s Dinner & Dance Cruise, Feb 14

Saints and Sinners Half Marathon, Feb 15

Over 1,200 athletes will be participating in the Saints and Sinners Half Marathon Feb. 15. The race includes a half marathon, relay and fun run. For more information on this permitted event, visit saintsandsinnershalf.com.

Ranger Hike: Owl Canyon, Feb 15

Join a ranger Feb. 15 for a moderate 3-mile hike that winds into a narrow canyon where birds of prey have been spotted in the past. Explore a twisting wash with multiple signs of life. For more information and to make a reservation, call 702-293-8990.

Ranger Hike: Hamblin Mountain, Feb 29 

Join a ranger Feb. 29 for a hike cross-country into the Pinto Valley Wilderness for a view of Boulder Narrows and beyond. Bring binoculars to capture a glimpse of wildlife. This is a 7.5-mile rugged and strenuous hike for experienced hikers only. For more information and to make a reservation, call 702-293-8990.
