Ranger Program: Shoreline Trail to Owl Canyon, Dec 7

Join a ranger 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 for a 5-mile hike along the Shoreline Trail to Owl Canyon. Enjoy views of the Las Vegas Wash before ending in a dramatic slot canyon. For more information and to make a reservation, call 702-293-8990.

S’mores Making at Boulder City Holiday Parade, Dec 7

Join rangers Dec. 7 at Lake Mead National Recreation Area Headquarters in Boulder City for s’mores making during the annual Santa’s Electric Night Parade. The parade starts at 4:30 p.m. For more information, call 702-293-8990.

Parade of Lights, Dec 7

Up to 50 boats decorated in lights and holiday décor will parade across Lake Mead Dec. 7. They will depart from Las Vegas Boat Harbor and Lake Mead Marina at 6 p.m. and make their way across the Boulder Basin. Spectators can view the parade from Boulder Beach. Parade of Lights Cruise, Dec 7

Cruise aboard the Desert Princess paddle wheeler on Lake Mead while she leads the Parade of Lights, dressed in holiday lights and décor. Light Hors d’oeuvres available for purchase. Henderson Holiday Parade, Dec 14

Join rangers and volunteers at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 14 as Lake Mead National Recreation Area participates in the Henderson WinterFest Evening Light Parade. The parade theme is “Fire & Ice.” For more information, call 702-293-8990.

Callville Bay Dock of Lights, Dec 14

Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy hot chocolate and stroll along the dock to see boats decorated with holiday lights at the annual Dock of Lights at Callville Bay. Starts at 5 p.m. Dec. 14. Visitor Center Closed, Dec 25

The Lake Mead Visitor Center will be closed Dec. 25, so staff may spend time with their families on Christmas Day.

Ranger Program: Lakeview Trail, Dec 28

Join a ranger from 9 a.m. to noon MST for a 4-mile hike on the Lake View Trail at Katherine Landing. Participants will enjoy views of a mountainous landscape and Lake Mohave on this moderate hike. For more information and to make a reservation, call 702-293-8990.

Visitor Center Closed, Jan 1

The Lake Mead Visitor Center will be closed Jan. 1, so staff may spend time with their families on New Year’s Day.
