Fan Photo: Harvest Moon by Diana McKay

We probably all saw and enjoyed the Harvest Moon a couple weeks ago. Reader Diana McKay sent us this photograph she took of the moon that night. Harvest Moon refers to the fullest, brightest moon that occurs closest to the start of autumn, according to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The term Harvest Moon was coined prior to electricity, when farmers used the light of the bright moon to help them harvest crops during the evening. While the temperatures haven't exactly lined up for autumn, we are still enjoying this beautiful time of year here in Boulder City. Thanks for sending us your photo, Diana!
