Fan Photo: Leaves of Autumn by Peter Starkweather

Today's Fan Photo was sent to us by Peter Starkweather. He tells us this is a beautiful "Chinese Pistache [Pistacia chinensis] close up taken near Bicentennial Park." Watching the leaves change color each year is one of our favorite things!! The Chinese Pistache is "Sturdy slow-growing shade tree to 30 x 30 feet has colorful fall foliage. Excellent accent specimen or street tree. Adapts well to poor soils but needs good drainage. Best in full sun with deep infrequent water once established," according to Star Nursery. This makes it an excellent choice for drought tolerant landscapes!
