Fan Photo: Snowbird Moves Into Town

Recently, residents on the lakeside of town, may have noticed this new resident, a Snowy Egret (Egretta Thula). Once hunted for their beautiful plumage, the birds have bounced back in population. This beautiful image, captured by our friend and Fan Diana McKay, shows off the regal beauty of the newcomer. Beware to those with shallow water features containing fish, like koi pods, as this traveler is known for foraging in shallow water. Snowy egrets also eat insects, some reptiles, snails and rodents.

Have you seen a recent wildlife visitor? A beautiful cloudscape? Taken an interesting photo uptown? We encourage our friends to send those fantastic photos to us here. We enjoy seeing the fun and beautiful pictures of our gorgeous town!
