The Boulder City Fire Department (BCFD) will be hosting automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) once a month thru the end of the year. Boulder City residents are invited to get certified for AED and CPR uses beginning this Saturday, October 22 from 9:00AM to 12:00PM at the Boulder City Fire Department station located at 1105 Elm Street.
BCFD recently received about 50 AED machines that they are distributing to local businesses. These machines are designed to assist bystanders who encounter someone in cardiac arrest, prior to the arrival of paramedics or the fire department. These machines were purchased using ARPA grant money. The goal is to have one AED every 300 feet within the business corridor of the city. The city also just recently replaced 20 AEDs throughout all city government buildings.
