Last Friday, June 25th, we were honored to be on hand for the first formal Fire/Police Department/Volunteer Awards Ceremony for our wonderful men and women in uniform that serve our Boulder City community! The awards given included:
- Life Saving Award
- Meritorious Service Awards (BCPD)
- Commendation Award
- Firefighter of the Year Award
On hand were of course City officials including Mayor McManus, as well as Police Chief Timothy Shea, and Fire Chief William Gray to present the awards, but frankly other than the chance to see, appreciate and honor these fine folks and their families was of course – the food! Cooked by non other than of course our Boulder City Fire Department! We’re told that the meatballs for the spaghetti dish was Chief Gray’s specialty he’d prepared himself!
We were thrilled to see a great turnout for this event especially after the really hard year we all know was had by all of these folks as they worked not only to perform their ‘normal’ duties of policing and protecting, but also manned incredible hours of both regular and volunteer time as COVID-19 testing and vaccine administration. We all owe these folks a round of applause and a big dose of our gratitude. THANK YOU!
