Fan Jim Widner recently sent me a Fan-TABULOUS comparison shot of the current “Boulder City Welcome Archway” and what the welcome banner looked like in the early to mid-1930’s…it’s AWESOME!
The archive photo is from the Manis Collection at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, University Libraries and here is what the description says:
“An image of a car traveling down an unidentified street in Boulder City. Small houses line the left side of the street, as a Mobil gas station sits on the right side of the street. The banner hanging above the road reads: “Welcome to Boulder City.”
Superbly awesome and many thanks to Jim for sharing this with us via www.BoulderCity60.com – a site for all Boulder City Alumni (including faculty and staff, whether graduated or not) who attended Boulder City schools between 1942 (the first BCHS graduating class) and 1964 (the current class celebrating it’s 50th reunion).
