December 2011 is Food for Fines Month!
Boulder City Emergency Aid’s Food Pantry is receiving an increasing number of requests for food and as their food stores can’t currently fill all of the requests, the Boulder City Library wants to help both the Food Pantry and our patrons by offering the Food for Fines program.
Patrons who have overdue fines may have up to $10.00 forgiven by donating non-perishable food items at the Boulder City Library.
Each non-perishable food item will equal up to $1.00 and they will, in turn, be donated to the Boulder City Emergency Aid Food Pantry. Food will pay for fines due on overdue items from the Boulder City Library, but lost and damaged items must still be paid for.
Non-perishable food items in demand from the Food Pantry include:
- Macaroni & Cheese
- Potato Dishes
- Rice Dishes
- Peanut Butter
- Tuna
- Canned Soups
- Other canned goods
Patrons should bring their Library Card and their food items to the Circulation Desk of the Boulder City Library to have their fines forgiven in December.
