Gourmet Burgers Won’t Be Opening

Gourmet Burger in Boulder City, NevadaWell, it’s quite the week for restaurant news, as a few fans have reported that a “For Rent” sign has re-appeared in the window of what was to be a “Gourmet Burger” restaurant in the former Sonic building at 1112 Nevada Hwy.

Unfortunately, the gentleman behind this restaurant endeavor — Tony Korfman — passed away suddenly on August 18th after complications from a hip surgery he had undergone just two weeks prior to his death.

So, in the saddest of circumstances, Gourmet Burgers will not be opening, despite both the interior and exterior looking almost ready and even tricked out with a brand new paint job.

Our condolences to Mr. Korfman’s friends and family…although I never had the pleasure of meeting him, I’ve heard him spoken of fondly by countless people around town.
