It’s a wrap for the Boulder City High School Class of 2023! Congrats to all of these amazing youths for your accomplishments on your journey so far! Woo hoo!
Last night after graduation the students all gathered together for the annual All-Night Drug and Alcohol Free Grad Night Party, hosted annually by the Sunrise Rotary Club of Boulder City! The students began the night being greeted at the Parks & Rec. gym where they enjoyed music and entertainment (the fake tattoos were a big hit!). Then they were loaded onto a luxury bus and with a formal BCPD escort out of town they headed into Las Vegas for a looooong night of fun at the Adventuredome!
Plus – PRIZES! Yes at the end of the night there is a drawing for some pretty big cash dollars. This year’s winners are: Bree Leavitt, $500, Terrilyn Lemon, $500, Caleb Schriever, $1000, and Connor Crokie, $2500!!! Wowza!
All of this is under the watchful eyes of Sunrise Rotary members, and they fund all of this mayhem via their annual Wurst Festival Event, held annually in town on the last Saturday in September.
From the Rotary website: “In 1992, the first All Night drug and alcohol free Graduation Party was held to keep Boulder City High School graduating seniors safe on this most important night. The budget was $1,600. Today’s budget is approximately $30,000. The evening is filled with food and fun events at different venues around the valley, all kept as a surprise until the event. Nearing daylight a drawing is held with several graduates winning large cash prizes.”
If you see a Rotarian be sure to thank them as it’s ‘all hands on deck’ for this event, and most especially give a high-five to those VERY tired members who pulled the all-nighter to supervise. And again and most importantly – CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2023! WELL DONE!
