Normally I spend the morning after ‘Grad Night’ busy rounding up photos from members of the Boulder City Sunrise Rotary Club as they come down from the adult-cafinated exhausting and always enjoyable All Night Drug and Alcohol Free Grad Night Party. This BCHS tradition has been going on now for over 20 years, and it’s Sunrise Rotary’s signature service project in town.
As we know, this is not a normal year, is it?
But thanks to a group of parents who mobilized a drive-thru parade last night, the community DID come together to give these accomplished young people the applause, cheers, waves, honks, hollers and congratulations they well deserve!
You’ve also got to give a shout out to the Boulder City Police Dept. and their Volunteers, as well as the City, and the Chamber of Commerce CEO, Jill Lagan who helped get the parade permitted, and countless others who helped quickly pull together this event. Also, Sunrise Rotary, being unable to give these kids the fun night that they’ve come to look forward to, did what they could with the gift bags above.
If you couldn’t attend the parade, here are a couple of videos for you below, one from the beginning of the parade at the school, and another longer video of their cruise through the heart of the downtown business district. We hope you enjoy them as much as we did filming it and being part of the fun.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2020! May you continue to thrive, grow and fulfill all your dreams and ambitions!
