Guidelines For Businesses and The Public As Reopening Begins

Boulder City Chamber of Commerce in Boulder City, Nevada

The City of Boulder City and the Chamber of Commerce are forwarding to everyone both in the business community and the general public the exact guidelines for businesses in this Phase 1 of reopening. HERE is the document issued by the State of Nevada that contains all of the specific requirements for our various businesses.

Below is a quick directory pointing out some of the highlights of the document, compiled by Raffi Festekjian, the Economic Development Coordinator for Boulder City.

  • Statewide Standards: Individuals (page3)
  • Statewide Standards: Requirements for Business & Employers (page 4)
  • Statewide Standards: Guidance for Businesses & Employers (page 5)
  • Businesses that will REMAIN CLOSED through Phase One (page 6)
  • Businesses & Entities that will CONTINUE OPERATING under pre-Phase One standards (page 7)
  • Businesses that may REOPEN with restrictions (page 8)
  • Local Empowerment (page 10)

  • All employers shall require employees who interact with the public to wear FACE COVERINGS
  • Restaurants are allowed to open dine-in under strict social distancing requirements (several other restrictions, please refer to the attached guidelines)
  • Restaurants that have Boulder City issued encroachment permits may resume outdoor dining under the following conditions:
    • maximum of 50% tables
    • 6 feet apart
    • maintaining safe pedestrian access
  • Barbershops, hair salons and nail salons may reopen under strict social distancing requirements (please refer to the attached guidelines for additional restrictions)
  • Retail businesses may reopen under 50% occupancy
  • Businesses that were open before Phase One that were allowed to operate without restrictions must follow guidelines to remain open.
  • Several types of businesses must remain closed.  The list is provided page 6.

The City encourages everyone in Boulder City to familiarize themselves with these guidelines and requirements. Understand that with the Governor’s announcement yesterday afternoon, that many of our businesses are now scrambling a bit to implement this more quickly than expected, after the Stay-At-Home order had been extended thru May 15th.

Also note that the Governor is still encouraging people to wear a mask when inside encloses spaces, and you should not expect your barber or hair stylist, for example, to be able to provide masks for their customers.
