The Boulder City Hospital Foundation is hosting its annual Heart of the Community Gala next month, Saturday, May 10. The Foundation is honoring Sara Denton, long time supporter of the arts. In fact, Sara Denton is the founder of Art in the Park, the city’s most successful philanthropic fundraiser. Art in the Park began in Sara’s home back in 1963 and has expanded to the beautiful park event we enjoy each fall.
The Hospital Foundation was formed in 1995 to help support the community’s only hospital facility. The Boulder City Hospital, founded in 1931, is the only hospital in Nevada that does not receive funding from a taxing district, corporate health system, or mining dollars. It relies on the fundraising efforts of the Hospital Foundation and individual gifts. The Boulder City Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated solely to the support of our town’s hospital.
