The Boulder City Hospital Foundation is hosting its annual Heart of the Community Gala next month, Friday, February 7. The Foundation is honoring Alan and Kristin Kerner, and Cindy Ford.
Alan was instrumental in helping the Boulder City Hoover Dam Museum retire its mortgage in 2008 and has remained a dedicated supporter of the museum and countless community programs. Together, Alan and Kristy have been consistent and enthusiastic supporters of Boulder City Hospital, Art in the Park, the Heart of the Community Gala, Veterans Memorial Park improvements, local schools, Rotary initiatives, Lend-A-Hand, Emergency Aid, and so much more.
Cindy’s generous spirit embodies the best of Boulder City. During government shutdowns, she provided free meals to those out of work. For two years during the COVID-19 pandemic and most recently during the government shutdown of 2025, she offered free meals to local school-aged children, all at her own expense. Her unwavering kindness has touched countless families.
The Hospital Foundation was formed in 1995 to help support the community’s only hospital facility. The Boulder City Hospital, founded in 1931, is the only hospital in Nevada that does not receive funding from a taxing district, corporate health system, or mining dollars. It relies on the fundraising efforts of the Hospital Foundation and individual gifts. The Boulder City Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated solely to the support of our town’s hospital.
