I’ve seen this conversation going around the pages of many of my friends and I’m all for spreading the word to help end the illegal dumping that is simply gross and a poor reflection of our wonderful town.
Check out the text below (and the photo) that was just posted to the City of Boulder City’s Facebook page … how about we a join the ‘community policing’ effort to report anyone we see illegally dumping their garbage in the grocery store parking lot instead of taking it to the dump??
“There has been a large amount of illegal dumping taking place at local charity donation sites. It is illegal to drop off mattresses in Nevada.
Dumped furniture and mattresses provide cover for rats and other vermin and may spread communicable disease and bedbugs. Charities CANNOT re-use mattresses.
Any items outside of a donation bin becomes an illegal dump site, creates an eyesore, and imposes costs on charitable organizations.
If you witness illegal dumping, please contact the Boulder City Police Department non-emergency line at (702) 293-9224 and provide the license plate number and a vehicle description.
Please dispose of used mattresses and broken furniture responsibly. Call BC Waste Free at (702) 293-2276 to schedule curbside pick-up, or bring your oversized items to the Boulder City Landfill residential drop-off area seven days per week.”
