And poof…it was gone! About a week ago, PBS disappeared from the tv’s of those of us who don’t subscribe to cable anymore. I know, I know — but the fact is that you can stream almost all of the programs on the major networks over the internet now, so there isn’t much reason to pay crazy rates for cable tv…especially if you only watch it a couple of hours a week.
But back to the issue at hand. PBS, which can normally be found on Channel 10.1 if you are receiving the over-the-air broadcast, went out last weekend and hasn’t been back since. Before I invested money in having someone come and check out my rooftop antenna — I called PBS and indeed — they’ve taken it offline temporarily. Seems they are in the middle of replacing a piece of 43-year old equipment up on Black Mountain and that is affecting our reception here in Boulder City.
The good news is that it should be back online within 7-10 days — so just hang out and stream any programs you might be missing over www.pbs.org until you can get it on your tv’s again!
