May is Historic Preservation Month and the City of Boulder City’s Historic Preservation Commission will host Historic Preservation Day on Saturday, May 4 from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. The theme this year is “Trains, Planes, and Automobiles” and the exhibits and places featured will revolve around those things. There will be events for adults and children.
Nevada State Railroad Museum (8:00AM to 4:00PM) at 601 Yucca Street:
- 8:00AM Welcome Reception
- 8:30AM Presentation of Historic Preservation Award and 2024 Preservation Projects at Nevada State Railroad Museum
- 9:00AM Presentation regarding the Jackass and Western Railroad preservation project
- 9:00AM Museum displays (free admission), Merci Train Anniversary Recognition, children’s activities, booths and displays
- 10:00AM, 12:00PM, and 2:00PM Train Rides ($10 for adults, $5 for children)
Old Boulder City Municipal Airport (10:00AM to 11:30AM) at 1401 Boulder City Parkway:
- 11:00AM Visit the historic Old Boulder City Airport
Boulder City Company Store (12:00PM to 1:00PM) at 525 Avenue B:
