Historic Preservation Day Schedule for 2026

The City of Boulder City has released the schedule of events for the 2026 Historic Preservation Day, which will be Saturday, May 9. The winner of the 2026 Historic Preservation Award, Petrizzo Financial, will receive their award. They are located at 550 Avenue G, next door to Boulder Dam Credit Union. The ceremony begins at 9:00AM. Legacy Flag winners, from Martha P King Elementary School, will also be presented.

At 10:00AM, the group will move to the Historic Water Treatment Plant facility, located at 300 Railroad Avenue. A dedication ceremony to late architect, Alan Stromberg, will take place in Teddy Fenton Memorial Park.

Beginning at 11:30AM, visitors are invited to Bullock Field Airport Hangar (the former Boulder City Municipal Airport). This building is located at 1401 Boulder City Parkway, with access via Madrone Street. There will be a presentation by Commissioner Baker as well as airplane-themed activities for children.

Historic Preservation Month began as National Preservation Week in 1973 and in 2005, the National Trust for Historic Preservation extended the celebration to the entire month of May and declared it Preservation Month.

The City's Historic Preservation Committee, in conjunction with the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, and Petrizzo Financial are sponsoring this year's events.
