The Historic Water Filtration Plant Receives Donation for Roof Repairs

Historic Building Roof Donation Boulder City, NV

The roof at the Historic Water Filtration Plant is apparently in sad shape, and is in imminent danger of collapse. However the best possible news is that thanks to very generous donation from a Las Vegas based company, the roof will be repaired!

Thanks to Scott Donnelly, a Boulder City local and owner of Cooper Roofing & Solar, starting later this month they’ll begin work repairing the roof, which should take about 3 weeks.

The value of this donation is around $50,000 worth of materials and labor, and the donation was approved at this Tuesday’s City Council Meeting.

When we talked to Scott we asked him how he heard about the project. Scott says that Jeff Gifford at StoryBook Homes connected him with Ray Turner at the Boulder City History & Arts Foundation. Scott says that initially Ray was looking to find a way to raise funds for the needed repairs.

But Scott said it soon became obvious to him what the answer was – to just simply step up and donate his company’s time, materials and expertise and get the job done.

Scott says, “it’s about people helping people. We’re really excited to be part of this project and to help out the community in this way.”

We couldn’t agree more – and all of Boulder City owes Scott and his crew a HUGE THANK YOU!
