The Holiday Inn Express, located adjacent to Railroad Pass Hotel Casino, held a Grand Opening ceremony last night. Staff from the City of Boulder City and City of Henderson, Boulder City and Henderson Chambers of Commerce, employees of Holiday Inn Express and Railroad Pass Hotel and Casino, special guests, and owner Joseph DeSimone, Jr and his family were on hand to celebrate the opening of the newly constructed hotel. Some of the special guests included both the incoming mayor of Boulder City, Dr Joe Hardy, and recently reelected mayor of Henderson, Debra March. Also delivering remarks were Jill Rowland Lagan, CEO of Boulder City Chamber of Commerce and Scott Muelrath, President and CEO of Henderson Chamber of Commerce, who emceed the event.
The City of Henderson presented Mr DeSimone with a certificate of recognition for his most recent property. His career as a real estate developer was noted, from construction of senior living apartments to purchase of Railroad Pass Hotel Casino and development of both the Holiday Inn Express, the truck stop adjacent to both properties, his Water Street projects, including The Pass and his future project, The Atwell at The Pass.
Assembled guests enjoyed a variety of food prepared and arranged by staff for the special event. An open bar was available to the group. A special cake featuring the corporate Holiday Express logo was featured as well.
Mr DeSimone’s comments at the grand opening summarized his positive business relationships with both Boulder City and Henderson. He noted that a second truck stop was under construction on the other side of the highway and was scheduled to open by the third quarter of 2023. This latest project will have a semi truck wash, repair facilities, food outlets, and more just on the other side of the city limits of Boulder City. Room tours were offered of three types of rooms: the queen suite, the king suite, and an ADA-accessible suite. All rooms were beautifully furnished with dark wood, bright white bedding, and subdued lighting. There is a new pool area available for Holiday Inn Express and Railroad Pass Hotel guests. The Holiday Inn Express has a full complimentary breakfast area, meeting rooms, and a fitness center.
