Fan Amy Wojciechowski posted to the Facebook page to ask if anyone knew why the “adorable, white rough sawn siding house on Wyoming was torn down” on Thursday.
No one replied, so I’m assuming we don’t know — but I was driving by on Friday and saw what she meant, so snapped a photo for you.
This is what the corner of Wyoming and Avenue G. looks like presently…it will be interesting to keep an eye on what what goes up instead!
Update as of 6/2/14: Boulder Dam Credit Union provided this info for us: “The Credit Union had an agreement to purchase the home from Frank Turner and his family for several years and completed the purchase in 2011. While we are planning for the future we have continued to maintain and rent out the two adjacent homes to this one for many years. After purchasing the Turner home we found it to be structurally unsound and uninhabitable. Removing the structure was done for safety and liability considerations. We were working with a local resident for salvaging the siding but were unable to complete the entire task due to the discovery of asbestos. We are planning on developing a community park on the site.”
