A special notice was issued by the City of Boulder City yesterday afternoon about last night’s planned power outage due to an issue that needed to be addressed at the electrical substation located between Buchanan Dr. and Royal Birkdale Dr. (see map below for the coverage area).
We posted it on the Boulder City Social Facebook page and with all of the Fans sharing the post, were able to reach over 12,000 people in just a few hours, which is totally awesome.
But did you know that anyone can sign up to receive the special notices from the City of Boulder City and you can even pick which notices you want to receive? From notices about utility power outages to the issuance of the city council agendas, just CLICK HERE to go to the city’s website and enter your email address to sign up for the things you want (you need to click on the email or mobile phone icon that is next to each type of alert you want to receive).
Also, since the power outage was to switch our service to other substations so this one could be repaired (likely taking several days to complete) — doesn’t it stand to reason that we’ll have another in a few days when power is switched back? So keep that in mind!
