Invasion of A 285 Ton Monster ~ Aug. 8th

Snail Traffic Sign - Boulder City, NVFacebook Fan Jim Ismert gets Super Fan status today for sending in this link from the Las Vegas Sun. I’d love to post the photo for ya…but newspapers are pretty strict about that kind of thing – so the best I can do is give you the link here…you gotta check this thing out.

Seems that on Monday, August 8th – there’s gonna be a 285 ton monster rolling through town…one that is 225 feet long and 20 feet wide…yep – wider than a single lane on the highway – so you won’t be passing and DON’T want to be behind this bad boy!

It’s a giant electrode doo-dad-thing-mah-jig (used for refining copper, apparently) and is making its way from the Salt Lake City area to a mine about 80 miles east of Phoenix.

Thankfully, the plan is for it (and its NHP escort) to cross the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge around midnight (late Monday on its way to Tuesday) — so that’ll be a huge blessing for traffic!
