Jingle Jam Coming This December

Looks like a new event may be coming to Boulder City, and this is an opportunity to see what the business community and residents can support for this year and possibly going forward.

Ever watched a Hallmark Christmas movie? OK, who hasn’t…. You know the scene, there’s this magical little town that is both everywhere and nowhere in America. Children are playing, the people all know each other and there’s this quintessential holiday scene with people crafting and baking and holiday-making all downtown in this community they love.

So, you may ask, why not us?

That’s what Angela Dyer asked herself when she thought of this idea for Boulder City to create its own new Holiday event. We all know that first big weekend in December with the tree lighting, parade, House on 5th and other events. But once that first weekend is over there isn’t a whole lot going on in Boulder City as far as specific events.

However, the second Saturday most months, including December, is the Chamber of Commerce Wine Walk which is highly popular. So, Angela brought her idea of creating a day-long event downtown where the merchants as well as individual residents can come together for some additional holiday fun!

The idea is that out on the street downtown there will be ‘Jingle Jam Shoppes’ with wares to sell and also Work-Shoppes (think Santa’s elves) where people can be working various crafts together. Then of course that evening from 4-8pm will be the annual Wine Walk with their Ugly Sweater theme will join in and cap off the night.

Those looking for information can visit the web site HERE, or can reach out to Angela at Angela@AngelaDyer.net. You can download an information form to participate as a ‘shoppe’ or ‘work shoppe’ and they are also looking for Sponsors as well.

We reached out to Jill Lagan, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and she says, “When Boulder City residents have fabulous ideas joined with businesses who believe in a healthy economy, we get fun events like the upcoming Jingle Jam. The Chamber has enjoyed working with Angela and her volunteer group to help create a Winter Wonderland feel in our Historic District.”

We'll watch closely as this event comes together and hope to see some support coming soon from the local merchants, artists and handy-crafters here in town to see what sort of local magic Boulder City Jingle Jam might create!
