The Friends of the Boulder City Police Department invite you to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the formation of Boulder City Police Department. The fun takes place Thursday, March 27th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at South Escalante Park and along California Avenue at Arizona Street.

The Friends of the Boulder City Police Department was formed in December 2009 to support and assist the Boulder City Police Department with various projects and unfunded items. The group is currently made up of Mike Giroux as President, Shelley Johnson as Vice President and Treasurer, Tawny Biggs as Secretary, and Scott Hinson, Dawn Lee, and Sue Manteris as Directors. The group holds fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds for supporting the BCPD with such things and meals during in-service training, police equipment or training that is unfunded by the City, and other needed items. They also support first responders by hosting special events for the responders and their families.

They are pleased to announce the sixty-fifth anniversary of the Boulder City Police Department. Prior to the formation of the BCPD, the town was managed by the federal government and federal law enforcement. Once the city became self-governed, it became necessary to create a law enforcement agency of their own. The block party next week will include food, live music, appearances by local officials, pet adoptions, police vehicles, and more! Meet the men and women of your Boulder City Police Department! There will also be appearances by Boulder City's K9 and Mounted Patrol units. Sergeant Tiffany Driscoll will begin the celebration with a singing of the National Anthem. You'll be able to buy commemorative t-shirts at the event.

Come on out and support our men and women in blue and have a good time doing so! We look forward to seeing everyone there on Thursday!
