Isabelle Gofourth is bringing her authentic, delectable dishes from her native France to tables here in Boulder City, with her new business: La Table D’Isabelle. Along with her business partner, Norma Vally, she creates memorable and exquisite dining experiences for dinner parties, wedding receptions, birthdays, anniversaries and even wine tasting events at Milo’s Best Cellars. Relying on lovingly crafted recipes generously given to her from her mother and grandmother, combined with her own experience, she creates what she refers to as French fusion cuisine. In addition to her popular catering business, she is also a distributor for Nuvó Olive Oil and hosts olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting events as well.
Isabelle came to our area by way of New York and Los Angeles and has been in the hospitality and food service industry all of her life. Prior to striking out on her own, she spent fourteen years at the Paris Hotel and Casino and four years at Wynn Resort. About Boulder City, Isabelle said, “I love its magical intimacy,” and Norma agreed. The pair met at Milo’s Cellar and swapped stories about their experiences in France and the United States and found a common bold that has served their partnership well.
La Table D’Isabelle has also joined the farmer’s collective, Garden Farms Market, where she sells her famous Quiche Lorraine that serves six (made from a recipe lovingly handed down from her mother). She also lists two of her most popular extra virgin olive oils and a balsamic vinegar called “The Godfather” that is aged eighteen years and imported from Italy. You can purchase these items HERE.
All of her dishes include locally grown, organic ingredients because every dish is a representation of her, according to Isabelle. You can see this commitment to the full dining experience from the tablescape to the presentation of the dish to the pairing of the wine. Each component of the meal is attended to carefully by Isabelle and the attention to detail shows.
Norma, who many may recognize as the Tool Belt Diva, told us that she swings a spatula as well as she swings a hammer (which is pretty darn good!). She raved about Isabelle’s cooking and said that living in Paris spoiled her as far as French food was concerned and that Isabelle has perfectly replicated her culinary experiences abroad.
