The workers at Boulder Dam (now known as Hoover Dam) put the capital ‘L’ in Labor, didn’t they?
Most of you are familiar with this statue downtown, but how many of you have seen the photo that inspired it? This is Alabam, who had maybe the dirtiest job their yes, cleaning and stocking the toilets for the workers at the damsite. Taken in 1932 this photo is later featured in the Boulder City News in September of 1987.
Our thanks always to Tiane Marie, Manager of the Museum/Collections at the BCMHA. Happy Labor Day everyone!
