The National Park Service at Lake Mead National Recreation Area is proposing to re-landscape the headquarters office located at the corner of Nevada Way and Wyoming (601 Nevada Way) and they’re inviting the public to review and comment on the draft plans for the next month.
The purpose of the project is to reduce the water consumption required by the existing landscape which is currently in excess of two million gallons of water per year!
Under the current proposal, water usage would be reduced by 25 percent for the first couple of years and by 50 to 60 percent in subsequent years after the vegetation has become established.
