Lane Shift On Road to Boulder City

Lane Shift on Road to Boulder City, NV

UPDATE:  NDOT has delayed the start date until Monday … great news for Art in the Park weekend!!

Did it freak you out the first time? Or have you not done it yet?

“IT” is the 3,500-foot lane shift you’ll be taking between Wagon Wheel Drive and Railroad Pass Casino when you are on your way to Boulder City. Starting this morning at 4am, NDOT was going to shift all traffic onto a newly constructed two-lane median and although it’s being called ‘temporary’ — it’s still planned to stay this way for the next three months (until January 6th at 5am, in fact).

NDOT’s press release says the lane shift is necessary in order to tie into the newly built $83 million first segment of Interstate 11 and here’s something SUPER IMPORTANT: THE SPEED LIMIT IS 55 MPH, so don’t get burned by double fines for speeding in a construction zone!
