So … check out this article from the Las Vegas Review Journal that Facebook Fan Bill Bruniga shared to the Facebook page about the death of a Veterans’ Home resident of Legionnaires’ disease. You can read John L. Smith’s article by CLICKING HERE.
Moreover, the article says that the Southern Nevada Health District inspected the Boulder City facility and found “the presence of legionella in many areas … including Charles Sr.’s room” and that “based on these results, the presence of Legionella pneumophilia in the water system may pose a health threat to residents and staff.”
I hadn’t heard the first thing about this … although I do remember hearing that Administrator Mark McBride (the gentleman being sued) left his position in November … can’t say if there is any direct connection though.
I looked up Legionnaires’ disease and here’s what it is: “Disease is a severe form of pneumonia, with lung inflammation usually caused by infection. It is not transmitted from person to person. Most people get the disease from inhaling the Legionella bacteria.”
So this might be a story to keep an eye on?
