Library Events for July 2026

The weather is scorching in July but there are a lot of cooooool things happening at your Boulder City Library. The library, located at ABC Park, at 701 Adams Boulevard, has just the right mix of activities for all members of your family. Let us tell you more!
First of all, the library is open seven days a week for your convenience:
- The library will be closed on Saturday, July 4 for Independence Day. It will reopen on Sunday, July 5 at 10:00AM.
- Monday thru Thursday from 10:00AM to 8:00PM.
- Friday thru Sunday from 10:00AM to 5:00PM.
- Early browsing hours are Wednesdays from 9:00AM to 10:00AM.
Ages 0-5 Programs
- Tuesdays at 10:30AM: Toddler Tuesday Storytime: Ages 1-3 and Caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, craft/coloring sheet. Board Room.
- Thursdays at 9:30AM: Early Risers Lapsit Storytime: Ages 0-2 and Caregiver. Join us for stories and songs. Board Room.
- Fridays at 10:30AM: Drop In Storytime: Ages 0-5 and Caregiver. Join us for stories, songs, and crafts. Board Room.
- Wednesday, July 1 at 11:30AM: PBS Kids: Playtime through the Past-America 250 Preschool Workshop: Discover how children played long ago, explore toys from the past, and imagine how you could make your own today. Ages 4-6 and caregiver. Sign-ups required. Community Room.
- Saturday, July 11 at 10:00AM: Play and Learn Family Engagement- Pre K Readiness: Children ages 4-6 and their caregiver will rotate through a series of hands-on activities that target the skills necessary for success in school. Community Room.
- Tuesday, July 14 at 11:00AM: Duplo Build & Play: Directly following Toddler Tuesday Storytime. Children will play and build with Duplo. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. Board Room.
- Saturday, July 18 at 11:00AM: TEA-Rex Party: You’re invited to a TEA-Rex Party! A dino-mite tea party with parlor games, tea, and cookies! Guests may bring a small friend (stuffed animal or doll). Ages 4-8. Sign-ups required. Registration required per child. Community Room.
Ages 6-11 Programs
- Wednesday, July 1 at 3:30PM: 3D Design Lab: A hands-on program for ages 11-14 introducing the basics of 3D design. This program is offered in two sessions; registration required and must attend both sessions 6/3 & 7/1. Sign-ups required. Community Room.
- Wednesday, July 8 at 4:00PM: STEAM Lab: Explore various STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Math) topics through hands-on activities. Ages 6-11. Community Room.
- Wednesday, July 15 at 1:30PM: PBS KIDS: City Time Travelers- America 250 Elementary Workshop: Discover how Las Vegas has changed over time, imagine how cities grow, and explore what the future might hold. Ages 6-8 and caregiver. Sign-ups required. Community Room
- Wednesday, July 15 at 3:30PM: E-Junk to Treasure: Come join us for a hands-on program focused on reusing and reinventing old technology into art masterpieces. Ages 11-14. Parent participation required. Sign-ups required. Registration required per child. Community Room

Family Programs
- Wednesday, July 8 at 10:30AM: Nevada State Museum Family Fun: Families join us for an hour of information and fun with the Nevada State Museum learn about the Ichthyosaur and all the museum has to offer. Community Room.
- Friday, July 10 at 1:00PM: America 250 Family Afternoon Movie: Join us for an afternoon showing of "An American Tail" (PG). Combined Community & Board Room.
- Saturday, July 11 at 1:00PM: Real Dinosaurs Dino Forensics: Join Real Dinosaurs to uncover clues, piece together evidence, & analyze fossil samples to determine what dinosaur will be discovered. Sign-ups required. Registration required per child. Space/supplies are limited. Community Room.
- Tuesday, July 14 at 3:30PM: Craft-A-Saur Art: Explore the Unearth a Story theme through various art methods. Painting, coloring, and crafts will be offered for children of all ages. Community Room.
- Friday, July 17 at 1:00PM: America 250 Family Afternoon Movie: Join us for an afternoon showing of "Newsies" (PG). Combined Community & Board Room.
- Monday, July 20 at 10:30AM: Las Vegas Natural History Museum Hour: Join us for a storytime and activity with the Las Vegas Natural History Museum; they'll also share information about the museum and all they offer. Combined Community & Board Room.
All Ages Programs
- Sunday, July 5 at 11:00AM: Starry Origami: Join us for Night Sky Paper folding. We'll make stellar stars and crescent moons! No supplies necessary. Beginners are welcome. No sign up required. Ages 8+. Community Room.
- Sunday, July 5 at 2:00PM: Kyle Khembo: Join us for an afternoon of Classical Guitar Musical stylings. All Ages. Community Room.
- Saturday, July 25 at 1:00PM: Paint & Plant Party: Join us for an afternoon of painting and plants! Take home a creative memory of a successful Unearth a Story Summer Reading Program. All Ages. Community Room.
- Sunday, July 26 at 2:00PM: Singing In The Stacks- Library Karaoke: From Country to Christmas, Metal to Musicals, Rock to Rap, Opera to Oldies, join us and sing your favorite songs. Beginners are Welcome! No registration required. Ages 8+. Combined Community & Board Room.
Ages 18+ Programs
- Tuesdays at 2:30PM: Crochet for A Cause: Board Room.
- Mondays at 1:00PM: Easy Does It Yoga: Relax and unwind. Please wear comfortable clothing. Use our mats, blocks, and straps, or bring your own! Ages 18+. Community Room. *NO YOGA 7/6/2026*
- Friday, July 3 At 5:00PM: After Hours Movie: Start your 250th celebration with the classic revolutionary musical "1776!" (NR). Combined Community & Board Room.
- Tuesday, July 7 at 6:00PM: Tarot Outside the Box: Join us for a fun tarot workshop of creating stories, jewelry and other fun ways to explore the symbolism of the tarot. No experience necessary, bring your own tarot deck or use one of ours (for in-library use only). Ages 18+. Community Room.
- Wednesday, July 8 2:00PM: Unearth a Story with the Nevada State Museum: Enjoy an informational talk from The Nevada State Museum on themes relating to this year's Summer Reading theme of "Unearth a Story". Community Room.
- Wednesday, July 8 at 6:30PM: Dam Book Club: Join us to discuss “Circe” by Madeline Miller. To obtain a copy of the book please see Jessie. Meet at Fox Smokehouse BBQ at 930 Nevada Way, Boulder City, NV 89005.

- Saturday, July 18 at 2:00PM: How Not to Burn Toast- Americana: Celebrate 250 years by learning some American recipes! Community Room.
- Sunday, July 19 at 1:00PM: Scientific Illustration with Tiffany Pereria: Learn what makes a scientific or botanical illustration special and how to construct a infographic to convey complex ideas. Sign-ups required. All supplies are provided. Community Room.
- Tuesday, July 21 at 6:00PM: Come Write In Creative Writing: Creative writing prompts and activities to generate new writing. All skill levels welcome. Board Room.
- Wednesday, July 22 at 6:00PM: Seashell Animal Art: Create your own pieces of artwork using canvases, seashells, hot glue, and twine ribbons. Registration required. Ages 18+. Community Room.

- Thursday, July 30 at 5:00PM: Piconland: Join us for a screening of the documentary "Piconland", with a Q & A session following the showing. Combined Community and Board Room.
- Friday, July 31 at 5:00PM: After Hours Movie: Conclude America 250 With a showing of “Saving Private Ryan” (R). Community Room.
Tech Teachers
Tech Teacher APPOINTMENTS are available! To sign-up for a one-on-one time, please visit the information desk or call the library at (702) 293-1281.Exclusions FOR TECH TEACHER INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Device repairs, device set-up, same day appointments, over the phone appointments, and/or multiple same week appointments. Tech Teachers are available- Tuesdays 1pm & 2pm, Wednesdays 12pm & 1pm, and Thursdays 1pm & 2pm.
Makerspace Programs
Weekly Open Makerspace Times: Tuesdays 5:00PM - 7:00PM and Wednesdays 2:00PM - 4:00PM: Open Maker Time: Must be certified on the machines you intend to use. Makerspace.

- Thursday, July 23 at 11:30AM: Sewing Certification: Learn the very basics of the sewing machines at Boulder City Library and get certified to work on them during Open Makerspace. Sign-ups required. Makerspace.
Summer Reading Program 2026 Unearth a Story: May 30 thru July 25, 2026. Ages 0-109. Read, log your minutes, and attend events for a chance to win prizes. Sign up at bclibrary.beanstack.org.
